Māoriland Film Festival is Aotearoa’s international Indigenous film festival, held each March in the vibrant community of Ōtaki. It is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Indigenous film festival and creative hub, presenting five days of film screenings, interactive installations, art exhibitions, and industry events.
At the heart of Māoriland is manaaki, with a strong commitment to nurturing talent and fostering meaningful connections.
The festival exists to celebrate and amplify Māori and international Indigenous voices through film and the arts, supporting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration. With a focus on discovery and connection, Māoriland actively seeks out new voices and creates spaces that encourage collaboration and exchange.
Māoriland Film Festival is delivered by the Māoriland Charitable Trust, a Māori organisation operating year-round from the Māoriland Hub in Ōtaki.
